Ralf Rangnick Reportedly Close to Becoming New Bayern Munich Manager

Former Schalke and RB Leipzig Boss a Leading Candidate After Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann Rumours Prove Unfounded

According to recent media reports, Ralf Rangnick is the leading candidate to become the new manager of FC Bayern Munich. The 64-year-old German coach has been out of work since leaving Manchester United at the end of last season, but he is now said to be close to agreeing a deal with the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern have been on the lookout for a new manager since Hansi Flick left the club at the end of last season to take over as manager of the German national team. The club initially targeted Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, but both men have since ruled themselves out of the running.

Rangnick has a wealth of experience in management, having previously coached Schalke, Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Manchester United. He is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to get the best out of young players.

If Rangnick does take over at Bayern, he will be expected to challenge for the Bundesliga title and the Champions League. The club has won the Bundesliga for the last nine seasons, but they have not won the Champions League since 2013.
